Terms of Service — Hecate
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Marco Polo Research Lab LLC, a California limited liability company ("MPR Lab", "Company", "we", "our", "us"), for access to and use of Hecate (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and Account Use
- You must be legally able to enter into contracts to use the Service.
- If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
- You are responsible for activity under the Google account used to access the Service.
2. Service Description
Hecate provides AI-assisted crossword generation, puzzle play, sharing features, and account and billing tools. Features and pricing may change over time.
3. Acceptable Use
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access, abuse APIs, interfere with availability, or bypass credit or account controls.
- Do not submit unlawful, infringing, abusive, or malicious content for generation or sharing.
4. User Content and Generated Output
You retain rights to prompts and other content you submit. You grant us a limited license to store, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to provide and secure the Service.
AI-generated crossword content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable in some contexts. You are responsible for reviewing generated or shared content before relying on it or distributing it.
5. Pricing, Credits, and Payments
Some generation or premium features may require credits. If paid checkout is enabled, you may purchase credit packs through Paddle or another authorized payment provider.
Where Paddle processes a transaction, Paddle acts as merchant of record and the transaction is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms, tax handling, billing notices, and compliance controls.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders, provides customer service inquiries, and handles returns for Paddle-processed purchases.
6. Refund Policy
The Service may automatically restore credits for eligible technical failures according to in-product behavior. Except where required by law, required by merchant-of-record terms, or approved in special circumstances, completed checkout charges are non-refundable.
To request billing support or refund review, contact support@mprlab.com. For Paddle-processed transactions, any approved refund must be issued through Paddle and remains subject to Paddle's buyer terms and applicable law.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service depends on third-party services such as authentication providers, hosting, analytics, billing infrastructure, and payment processors. We are not responsible for third-party downtime or actions beyond our contractual obligations.
8. Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including to improve security, comply with legal obligations, or maintain platform integrity.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service software, design, branding, and related materials are proprietary to Marco Polo Research Lab LLC and its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that generated content will meet any specific requirement.
